Squad - Fallujah

Fallujah, a 16 km² map, is a one of the levels I worked on during my time on the tactical shooter "Squad". I was responsible for an array of buildings, modular assets, props, and set-dressing of several areas. The images shown are in-development shots from when I left the project mid-2019. They may not represent the final product, which is yet to be released.

It was a pleasure to work on this with Jacek, Piotr and Justin.

As Fallujah is such a large map, consideration had to be made for lowering cost for assets. Above is an example of an asset pack I created using one atlas albedo, an atlas normal/mask, and a tiling albedo/mask.

An example of the vert painting process for these assets. One UV channel was for the albedo atlas, and one for the normal atlas. A mask matching the normal atlas meant vert painted dirt etc would respect these elements.

The development cycle that was followed for buildings. Alpha stage was primarily for look-dev and performance analysis and beta for further polish.
